you can probably sell your Evo VII lights for $250-$300 used and pick up a set of stock Evo VIII tailights for about $50.00 or so.

I can't believe you like the stock lights better.

how many miles on the Evo. Blow off values suck. They are for kids who like to make noise. with those mods, i would imagine your car had a tortured life so far??

I bought a 2003 Evo VIII new and drove it 23k miles abused miles and it was great.

I do have an evo VIII. I dont mind the head and tail lights, but I want to replace that light right by the real wheel. Its just a small red rectangle and I want it cleared but I am having no luck. I dont think mods mean that someone has abused the car. It has 25k miles on it and from what I understand the guy used it basicly in the winter. He was a big bike guy so used that in the summer. I dont mind the BOV. Its the HKS SSQV and its not real loud. The cat back is just a magna flow and the intake is AEM. The wheels are very nice set of privat's.

awesome more evo vs S2K debating.. thought this ended after the article on the front page Both cars are awesome. both cars handle amazingly well. you can't really compare them since a 'race' can be setup to favor either car.

Yeah, i'm in the process of trading my S for an evo...i tested drive one, it's amazing, the acceleration and the turbo...It's kinda ugly but for some reason, EVO or STI turbo/4WD car holds value like no tomorow...A 2003 evo with 20k miles still able to sell for 23000-24000...it's cheaper than the S new but sells for more with a comparable model S....I guess it's because of the rarity.

Do you know if it's been tuned for the bov and intake? Just throwing on an intake and a bov is bad news on an evo, it needs to be tuned for the two mods (specifically an intake). The MAF sensor is really sensitive and almost all intakes have been known to give it fits. The BOV while it's not gonna grenade your engine, if it's vta you will run really rich during shifts and likely have some idling problems. If it has the recirculation kit your fine. Enjoy the car, I love Evo's, the steering is telepathic and you can load it down with groceries.

If it hasn't been tuned check out Dynoflash. A mail-in flash is about $199 and they'll tune the car for your mods. You take out your ECU (behind the glovebox), send it to dynoflash, they flash it and overnight it back. Takes about 2-3 days total.
