Iv taken my car to two honda dealers and an independant dealer for the past 3 yrs My car has a loud knocking sound coming from the right rear end of the car when I turn my steering wheel slightly if I'm driving straight it doesn't knock...It's been that way off and on for about 3 years at first it wasn't that noticeable I would hear it every now and then . when I would take it to the dealer they said nothing was wrong. The noise will appear and then it would stop sometime for months at a time.. now it's more frequent. I'v taken it to Asian Import's here in Vegas and they can't figure it out so I went back to the dealer again...still waitng for a diagnostic..any suggestions? Also when I brake at times the rear brakes in the P/backside almost sound like a crunch.. I told the dealer to check the rear axel...and anything in that area...they are guessing it's the diff....does anyone know what the problem is or have this issue with the 2001's

 

Sounds like the limited slip differential.

Try and put LSD type gear oil in your LSD or add LSD additive to your LSD.

sounds like a bad diff, the axel noise is not that loud, and more of a click.... good luck with it
