Clicking/Popping from the Rear of my car
The other day I noticed a clicking/popping sound from the rear of my car. Now I notice every time I start accelerating after stopping for a light or stop sign. I'm making an appointment at the dealer but was wondering if anyone might know what this is. My warranty is almost up and I want to make sure it's taken care of before it expires.
Thanks!
Thanks!
This has been an issue for a number of us. Mine was fixed by the dealer about 5k miles ago. It involved greasing up the left rear driveshaft really good (so much so that for 2-3 washes I had to spend some time removing "spun out" grease from the wheel hub under the cap.
Do some searches for "clicking" or "clicking noise" to find many more posts.
I haven't heard the problem since. I've got 36k on the car now.

I have the same. I'ts really loud and gets louder by the day. I've had the hubs re-greased and the CV joints replaced, no help. Honda has yet to step up to the plate on this issue. I've been told the grease would fix it, the CV joints would fix it, it's the brake pads (I keep changing them and it's still there) and it's normal. It's not normal to me. It sounds like there is something really wrong with my car and I have people standing more than 20 ft away tell me so. Thankfully it's not just me 'cause mine is lowered and I'm told that voids the warranty on my rear end. If there are others however, that means it's not my suspension causing the problem.
I don't think Honda knows what the problem is yet. It's not their policy to speculate in public. Once there is some resolution I'm sure they will come forward with it. You can find more discussion about this issue in the Under the Hood forum.

I'm having the same problem and it really scares me. It's gotten very loud now. I'm taking my car in for the Laguna Seca tech inspection on Thursday so I will talk to my mechanic and see what he says.
If you would go so far as to call it a "banging", I would check the springs and make sure the spacers were removed. Many people have found out that they were not removed upon delivery and they will make a bang/thump noise under initial acceleration.
