Default Saab 92x Aero

I know the 92x has been discussed on this forum, has anyone actually taken the plunge and purchased a 92x Aero ? I test drove one last night and was impressed with the package. The sheetmetal is far more attractive than the WRX's IMO and the interior nicely done. Best of all they can be had for $38K CDN taxes in with all the incentives offered by GM right now (got to love GM for that). I cannot get a concise answer as to whether or not the ECU is identical to the WRX's or if Saab has their own. The power ratings are identical for the two vehicles (92x/WRX). I simply wonder if you could buy WRX performance parts for the 92x. The fellow I talked to at Cobb tuning was unsure as well. Anyone Know ? I think I may purchase one.

We've had ours for a month or so (Aero, Sport, Cold).

Goes well with an S2K.

Hard to pass the deal up with so many incentives from GM.

As far as I understand, the powertrain and related ECU, etc. is identical to the WRX 2.0L turbo four.

agree with above, I too thought they were the same engine and components, just with differ body and interior upgrades to be a Saab.

My little brother is getting on this week. With now $10k off msrp, he couldn't pass it up. (For ~$20k, I would get the Mini S, but that's just me).

Enjoy!

Take a WRX, change the cloth in the seats and the sheetmetal a little... put different wheels and taillamps... TADA! you have a 92x!

so yes, all WRX parts work.

Let me trying to get this.

A $28k car with a $10k discount? Damn, is GM doing something right or not?

It is downright shameful.

I should have added, yes, WRX parts swap right in. We'll be adding a Kartboy shifter and bushings soon.

See Saabcentral.com for more details.

Sounds like a really good deal. Especially if all the WRX parts bolt on. Hmmm....is there enough room to fit two bikes inside the back hatch area?

The Saab deals are amazing. I work at GMAC and the full time employees here get those incentives plus more. Someone here got a loaded 9-5 with a total of 15K off the sticker price.

When I was trading the S, I looked into getting the 9-3 Arc w/ Nav, moon, and xenon lights - came to like 27 w/ the incentives. But I wasn't saving enough money, so I went with the 4Runner.
