Default Saving VW

How would you lead VW out of this disaster
The first thing that came to mind is that there is so much bland look a like product on the market now that for VW to save it self is to bring back some style !!
Let them bring back the Scirocco , Karmann Ghia, Thing, Golf pickup in regular cab budget only , Type III fastback, and maybe even the transporter van and do not forget the Bluesport .
Plan 2 partner with Tesla and have some electric Golf,Scirocco,Karmann Ghia that is fast, fun , and environmentally friendly ?
Ideas?????

Why do we think VW needs saving? They screwed up, but life goes on. BTW they still make the Scirocco over seas, and it's like the golf's hot sister and they should bring it here.

Recalling 11 million cars alone could kill it, much less billions in fines. I don't think another automaker would touch VW with a 10 foot pole right now.

BP is still around and doing quite well. Everyone seems to have forgotten the environmental disaster they created.

That's because "everyone" doesn't "own" something made by BP that has to be fixed.

Completely different situation.

They'll be fine. They still make great cars and people will still buy them. Worse come to worse, they'll get bailed out by Germany just like we bailed out the big 3.

Great time to buy VW stock in my opinion.

Not sure, they are bringing in the head of Porsche to be the new CEO.

I wouldn't buy just yet, that's for sure. It was a sharp reaction but when you consider the impact on their bottom line, it's with good reason.

Have you bought any?

I am thinking about it, but Tsla is still a better buy...

Not sure if I plan too. I have a good amount of automotive exposure in my portfolio. Bought Honda right before the introduction of the HR-V, own a bunch of Tesla, and bought Chevron hoping oil will make a comeback soon.
