go to your local bike shop and try it on first. not everyone has the same shape of head.

as far as quality they are a good mid range helmet.

anything like arai or shoei would be really nice too but they are little more high end.

ive had really good luck with shark. great quality, light weight, etc.

i have the rsi and the rs2r.

Scorpions are good helmets. You may want to check out Sparx. For the price they're really good. You can get a few of them in the $70-90 range. Requires a small head though.

Scorpion also makes good gear for the price.

I think most helmets are very good today with respect to safety and melon survivabilty. Maybe the difference is in how durable the hardware for the faceshield is or how the vents work or how much they weigh.

I have a Shoei Rf-1000 and last year I got the X11 and I am happy with them, but they are expensive. Arai didn't fit my oddly shaped head that well.

Fit is probably the most important thing about helmets, I won't mail order a helmet either.

Thanks to everyone for their opinions. I fitted the helmet and and found my size then ordered one through my friends shop. Very happy with it. A little tight but it'll loosen up some.

which helmet is the lightest out there guys? and which one offers the best ventilation? I want a light helmet so I don't have a headache after a ride.

^^ Thanks DimaK, that was the response I was looking for. What Model do you have?

Saki, thanks also but that is the 400 being reviewed. The 400 series was designed for upright riding(i.e. cruiser) while the 700 series are different helmets designed for leaned forward riding(i.e. sportbike).
yeah, I was just trying to give you an idea based on similar helmets.

i have a scorpion helmet still laying around somewhere. when i had my bike i loved it. My buddy had an Arai and although it was much lighter, i actually like the venting on the scorpion better
