Default Scorpion Helmets...

Hey all... Gauging interest on a helmet that will serve as a bike helmet and track helmet for my S. Just seeing what everyone has heard or knows about scorpion helmets and/or the exo 700 series overall.

Here is the helmet with the design that I chose(I had someone comment that he was gonna get me some mudflaps for my bike and S so it matches the design)...WTF?!!

Lemme know what you think

They get good reviews from what I've read for what they offer at the price point. Good for being DOT/Snell approved.

^^ Thanks DimaK, that was the response I was looking for. What Model do you have?

Saki, thanks also but that is the 400 being reviewed. The 400 series was designed for upright riding(i.e. cruiser) while the 700 series are different helmets designed for leaned forward riding(i.e. sportbike).

How does it fit your head? How does it feel? Any pressure points? Do you feel you'd be comfortable in it for several hours? How does it rate in ANSI/SNELL results? Are you comfortable with those? Last, do you need the approval of your peers on something that is going to be protecting YOU?

This is my racing helmet (EXO-700). I high sided at about 100mph and landed head first. Got up and walked away from the crash. Ended up with a small welt on my head where I impacted, no concussion, was conscious through the entire crash. The helmet was destroyed.

I have friends that have crashed in the EXO-400, all of them, albeit a little insane, seem to keep on trucking.

I don't know what other proof you'd need. Go buy one, they're awesome helmets that don't cost you a first born child. A little heavy, but have good ventilation, and most importantly protect your noggin in the case of a crash. Remember, the proper size is the one that when new, is slightly uncomfortable and chipmunks your cheeks.

Safe riding, and remember shiny side up

^^ Thanks

Will do!!

Noticed the fabric is nicer quality inside than an HJC helmet and removable for wash. Big for that.
