I'll admit that I don't know much about the 16g turbo's, but another reason might be that Mitsu was concerned about running the stock turbo out of it's efficiency range... As you know, some turbos have no trouble running high boost at lower flow rates (i.e. lower rpms), but as the flow rates increase they can heat up rather quickly trying to maintain the same pressure... 3 years and 36000 miles is a long time to try to run a turbo out of its efficiency range...

So you trapped at 101 and others have trapped as high as 102, not too bad, but that makes me thing the evo wouldn't be that much faster then the s2000 from a roll...figuring it traps at 99-101.

You CANNOT up the boost right now without an S-AFC and some knowledge about tuning. The ECUS that are coming out for the EVO will automatically take care of all the fuel tuning for you. I personally would go with an ECU setup(partly cause i've never tuned an s-afc before), and i'd add a fuel pump just to be safe. There is NO problems boosting if you've taken these precautions. If you get the car as it is, no boost gauge, no fuel pump, no s-afc, no ecu, and you just drop in a boost controller, then yes, you will blow the motor.

100-104 is weak. A bone stock LS1 car even an automatic would walk this super $30k Mitsubishi. I'm not that impressed. Since when did people get so excited about a GSX or Turbo Talon AWD. It's basically a four door equivalent of those archaic cars with a little more boost and a few small goodies for $7-10k more. Yawn..
