It's funny to see xpander comparing a watered down US production version of the Evo to a totally modified WRC rally car that shares almost nothing with the road car. Even better is that Mitsubishi isn't even competing in the WRC this season because they got their asses kicked so hard last year they are taking this season off to try and get the Evo up to speed with the Subarus, Fords, and Peugeots. Yes, WRC cars share more with production cars than a lot of race cars, but any follower of WRC would know that the $30,000 fully electronic transmissions and engines producing upwards of 400 HP found in WRC cars share almost nothing with their production versions. They also have much beefier suspension, brakes, and a ridiculous amount of chassis stiffening that you couldn't duplicate in the road car without spending a lot more money than the car costs new.
I like the Evo and I'm glad to see that Mitsubishi and Subaru are finally gracing us with versions of these great cars, but it's not the most amazing car in the world or even close.

That sums it up.... it is a pretty cool car, especially for $30k...hauls ass, kids and drives in bad weather........ it really loses steam at the higher rpm...apparently it runs pretty rich....booooo
it takes an S2000 130mph to finally catch up..... 0-130 in 28.X seconds per Car and Driver which is about what I hand timed my S2000....
