Selling the S2K for a Miata?

Okay back to the Miata...for now
I don't plan on tracking it much but everyone raves about the handling. I am not experienced enough to compare the two cars myself but in 2012 I went out to Mid Ohio for the ITRExpo and pushed the s2k for the first time and had a lot of fun but held back a lot. My instructor had a street legal miata with him and also owns a strictly track car s2k so his advice was great being able to relate to the s2k. I rode with him in the miata one session and Jesus I almost pooped myself... don't need to brake much lol. Even though he was faster with the s2k on that track he said he had more fun in the miata. Its more fun to drive and parts are cheap was his opinion.

I had a 93 Miata LE for most of last summer. I bought it for the tidy sum of 3400, one owner, ran great with only 100k miles on it. I was a little bit to big for it, and the LE had the hardest riding suspension I have ever experienced. Aside from that it was a super fun car, especially around town and on the back-roads. I have just one question for you:
Is this going to be your main or only car?
The reason I ask is that in my opinion, a 20 year old miata makes a great second or third car. Mine suffered from what is called "the 55 mph shimmy" which made driving it on the highway fairly uncomfortable. You will realize how modern and stiff the s2000 chassis is driving an NA, which flexes and shakes over bumps. Its not terrible but its certainly not comparable to the S2000.
Aside from that, that NA was the most fun I had driving slow. I kind of regret selling it as the LEs are really neat packages but I broke even on it selling it to a guy from Alaska, who flew down and drove it all the way home(he had owned 6 Miatas before that one).A couple pictures.

I completely understand if you are going for a track car. I'd look around for ones that area already built though and then instead of focusing on prepping the safety and suspension, you can boost it!
I had a Miata years ago and turned it quickly as it just did not have the thrust to entertain me. Later I was pulled into an extended drive with a MazdaSpeed Miata and still found it weak compared to an S2000. For me the Miata is just a bit short of size and power I want to drive so I suggest an extended (or multiple) test drives.
Something a group of local guys have been working on. Your life will never be the same.

When it's done, I'll have one convertible with no torque, and one with plenty of torque. :-)
I wanted a Miata for 20 yrs., after renting one.
When the time came, I ended up buying an S2000, that was 4 yrs. ago.
I have driven a Miata twice since then, each time grateful that I had the S b/c of the turbo, I mean Vtec.
When my son drove one last summer when he was looking to upgrade his tc, he said that it was just like an S, w/o the Vtec.
Ever since I found out they had a retractable hardtop, that is the one I would get if I ever go there. Beats a ragtop an day.

That red interior is so sexy I thought it was an s2k at first! lol
With the extra cash I have left from selling the S and buying a miata I plan to purchase a clean 4 door civic or something for everyday driving and in the winter. Right now I have a geo prizm for the winter but shes falling apart.
If I end up doing a v8 swap in a few years i wont even remember owning an S
