Solstice GXP
GM plans to debut it at the upcoming LA Auto Show.
Lease expires on my MY04 S2K in Fall '06. I hate that I'm thinking about looking at a Pontiac.

Respect -- that Ecotec motor can pump out more then 1400hp. That's Supra/Skyline terriotory from a 4-banger.
And I hate to say it but that Pontiac will eat our S2k alive if it holds out to be true. GM tends to under-rate their cars.

I hate when people say things like this. Even Supras can't handle 1000 hp on a stock motor. I think they're limited to about 600 hp without serious upgrades (it might be a bit less).
The fact that it is capable of this much even modified speaks volumes of the effiency of the head design, thereby disproving any notions that the GM cannot design motors.
Remember, 2JZ motors which has 2 additional cylinders and .8L more displacement cannot match 1400hp. And for what it's worth, has anyone seen any other 4cylinder motor match 1400hp? Including Honda units? I haven't.
Furthermore what does a naming convention (Ecotec in this case) have anything to do with how capable the motor is?
Look at the facts, and stop sackriding the Honda just b/c it's a Honda. I love it just as much as you do, but facts are facts.

Quickag - I think you're referring to the Cobalt SS, lol. Turbos don't have pulleys
But yes -- this car is going to be a killer. GRM recently did an article on it, and it killed the new Miata in an AutoX.

Bottomline: to compare a NA motor to a FI motor is like comparing apples to oranges.......NEWSFLASH: a FI motor SHOULD make more power than a NA motor.........if you are immature enough to bash the S2000 in this manner then you just don't get it and probably never will
