Supra?
All this talk about what people want and what it will cost is up for debate. What I really hope for, and I think is a niche not being met is in between 370z and Vette performance and price. Mid-forties to fifty grand, and quicker than the Z but not as fast as the Vette. To me that is perfect if it is not too heavy and not too ugly.
Peer pressure is a bitch!
Would be dope to see a sensible option plus a crazy option based on the same chasis just beefed up on power, widebody styling and track readiness. 400 or 600 hp with a clearly different motor to set itself apart from the BMW and Vette way of using the same base motor (so stupid how a 335i can have basically the same motor as a M1/M2/M3/M4. give us base vette versus ZR1 type action. I6 or V6 turbo screamer and a V8 boosted with electronics to go after the GTR and Vette.
dreaming hard

The first Supra had 6.67% more horsepower than the same-year Corvette. The Supra MSRP was also similar.
Using the same numbers against a C7, I'd expect the Supra to have at least 480hp and cost somewhere around $50-55k starting. More power would be expected if it has to overcome pig-like weight from current safety regulations. Bottom line, if a new Supra comes out near that price it better be able to turn 12.0-12.2 1/4 miles completely stock. And if it were like the MKIV, it could output another 30% power on stock fuel and turbos with a tune

I'd rather they did a smaller, lighter, cheaper sports car than an all-singing/all-dancing giant-slaying Supra that's certain to be overwrought, overweight and overpriced.
Why not a 2-seat version of the FR-S/BRZ, with the engine/trans/firewall/windshield/front-seaters moved way aft for 50/50 or more rearward weight distribution? With optional 300hp turbo-4 or NA-6? Now *that* would interest me...

I think he's talking about the part where he says "wait your turn. " I kind of didn't get that part either but the rest was as clear as day
With that said, a sports coupe from toyota is inevitable, the IS coupe is a go, they have the F moniker, they already make an ISF, just a matter of time which makes a lot more sense imo from a marketing standpoint. Maybe perhaps they'll make a supra variant.

Im sure a new supra is on its way in the next 5 years. Considering how popular they are nowadays, Toyota would be super dumb to not bring it back. Tons of people would jump on it immediately.

Supras, IMO, have not been plastered in people's mind through F&F. Handling 600HP on a stock motor, Internet race videos and their known quarter mile times challenging the V8s have put them in the history books even before F&F. My parents remember the Toyota MR2 and Supra as basically a Lexus sports car. My Mom wanted a MR2 at one time. It's a shame they didn't sell better.

Oh def, the 2jz definitely was the reason why the supra is what it is now. That said, since the movie, there was a spike in value for those cars.
