Default Test drove the new eclipse today....

So, my mom's looking for a new car, i told her to get an s2k, but she wants something a little more practical. I went back to the same dealership I bought my evo from a year ago, they gave that to me for invoice, so i wanted to see what theyd do on a new eclipse. I test drove a fully loaded dark grey eclipse gt v6 with the 6 speed manual. The transmission is smooth as butter, but not as precise as our on the s2k (well thats a surprise jk). The engine is fantastic, its nice to be able to take off in fourth gear at less than 3k rpm. the interior is very comfy, and looks great. I think for her it'd be a good car, but i wouldnt ever trade the s in for it. This is the deal they offered me: the car is 27k with all options. they are offering me the car for invoice of 1800 off the price, plus they are going to give me the $100 rebate on top of that, and $500 owner loyalty. i think its a steal, nice car! way better than the 3g gts i had

doesn't it get like 7 or 8 mpg?

edit: the above was not a serious comment.

i had a first generation 5spd eclipse...i liked it when i had it. it was my car through out high school and college. don't think i'd get a new one though.

Gee for a minute I thought this thread was going to be about you wanting your time spent looking at it back in life.
