No

You can only get CPO'd vehicles from a dealer.
However, if the vehicle was sold CPO'd to someone who then sells it, the warranty is transferable.

I've seen CPO specials on that vintage M5's getting into the low $50's. If you were thinking of spending $40's I'd consider stepping up. edit - I thought you meant the regular 5-series. D'oh! You said M5. If you can find a clean one around $40K, wow.

You can get a miled 2000 for around $30k, but I think you're better off getting an 01+ car.

My thoughts are you are better served asking on bimmerforums.com.

any reason for selling it?? Yeah i've read there are a lot of problems with the vanos, the maf and the carbon build up...

Any advice on how to look out for the carbon build up since it is internally?

Someone offered me crazy money for it... I bought a 911 cab the next day and just sold it last thursday. Like a crzy bastard, I bought an S2000 the next morning. I had my 911 for about 7 months and it was truly a unreal driving experience. I always wanted an S2000, im very excited
