Default TL or S2k?

I have 2003 TL Type S and 02 S2k. I've been saving up some money to mod S2k but lately I've been getting urges to mod TL instead. I really can't decide which cars to mod (I've never mod a car before) so I'd like to hear different opinions.

Just to name a few pros and cons in my opinion about each car

-TL

45k miles, so I don't worry too much about depreciation by modifying it. (It is paid off and I might even give it to my mom later)
From what I heard, TL responds better to mod than S2k (i.e. comptech header)
this is my daily ride which is driven 80~90% of time and I want to enjoy the boost with daily driver
one of my best friends has exactly same car, same color and same model year so I'd like to differentiate a bit.

but TL is automatic
well known transmission problem (I already went to the dealer for recall but I've read posts that someone's tranny died at 90k or so)

-S2k

26k miles and I might sell it sometime when I go to grad school if I can't afford it.
I just love VTECing this car much better than TL of course.
I drive like 40~50 miles a week (weekend car)
I don't see too many bad things about modding S2k other than I will need additional mod parts (i am thinking mainly of supercharger for both cars to begin with).

I don't know why but I am leaning toward modding TL but I'd like to know if this is a bad call.

Steve

christophle put away the haterade, do you ever have anything nice to say? If the TL's tranny will hold it is an attractive proposition, to supercharge it. Comptech makes nice mods for the tl. Namely headers, exhaust, supercharger, intake, flywheel, and clutch need i say more. Or you can hook up the S and spend twice what it would cost to modify the tl on a car that you probably aren't going to keep. If you do decide to keep the S it would be a tough choice they are both fun.

Thanks, If I am going with TL, i was thinking of Header, Exhaust, and Supercharger (not in particular order). It is still a tough choice though. Cost effectiveness can be an issue as well because if I have to spend twice more that's something I'd like to avoid but S is just damn fun.

Thanks for your input again

Alright alright, haterade or not. I would mod the one you will plan on keeping longer.

If that choice isn't clear, then do your daily driver.

Personally, I don't see the point in modding the TL. The S is the fun car. Why not have some more fun with it and mod the S?

260hp is already borderline to the max that a fwd can handle. adding a supercharger to add more torque and power will just make driving the car a nuissance. besides, you mentioned that you might give your TL to your mom, so do you actually think your mom will appreciate driving an SC TL?? here's an idea: how about getting rid of both your TL-S and S2K and using that money and buy an EVO or STI so that you can mod one of those cars instead??
