Default transform broken 851 to 888

I bought this straight 851, with 888 slugs already installed, after a nasty lowside. I added Marvic rims, carbon bodywork, Race Tech'd black anodized front forks, revalved rear Ohlins, custom lights, black powdercoated frame and some nice Ferrari Fly Yellow paint.

That's an interesting looking bike. As far as I know, they didn't make any yellow 851's or 888's. Mike Cecchini has a very interesting 888 done in yellow (see photo below).

By the way, some of the 851's had 888cc engines before they changed the bike and called it an 888.

You should join the Yahoo 851 list (http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Ducati851/). There is a lot of useful information there about 851's and 888's.

I love my red (original and totally stock) 888.

This is Mike's highly modified 888:

Scott,

Thanks for the input. I don't think that they made any yellow 851's or 888 either. I wanted to "punch it up" a bit--the Ferrari Fly Yellow is a bit stronger than the stock yellow from Ducati. If there's one bike I'd like to get my hands on, it's a yellow 900SS Superlight. Great bike!

There was one for sale on Craigslist a month or two back. You just have to keep an eye out. That's how I ended up with my 888.
