Default Truck people need advice

Looking for a cheap truck like under $1000 for hauling shit to the dump and my frequent trips to home depot, oh and winter driving when it snows. I'm really leaning towards finding a chevy s10 does anyone have better suggestions? Those are cheap used, cheap to fix and cheap to insure.

I don't know what they are going for these days but I had a '97 Nissan hardbody (regular cab) a while back. KA24, 5 speed, ran forever, cheap and practical.

You won't find a truck that is under $1k and is consistently reliable.

QUIKAG hit it. For $1000 you are looking hit or miss. If you can and you have a car that can tow it, you might consider a utility trailer.

find a nice early to mid 90's nissan hardbody. Easy to work on, pretty much bulletproof. Once my ridgeline sells, i might grab one to do the same. Haul the trash, run to lowes/HD, etc.

id say s10, but good luck finding one in your price range. i drive a 03 s10 for work, its got the v6, and 196k miles, still blue books for over 3 grand. however, it runs ok, and has been reliable for the last 25k miles ive been driving it. i average about 40k miles a year in it.

I'm talking probably a 1st gen s10 like early 90s and there are plenty around 1k in my area, even if the engine needs some work they're dirt cheap and tons of them in yards around here.
