normally a turbo car with high performance exhaust will be quieter than a NA car with performance exhaust. This has to do with the fact that exhaust gas travels past the compressor wheel which dampens the sound. But that's not to say that you can't get a loud turbo car...you can. Mainly it's the exhaust/muffler design that will determine if the car will be loud or not.

ok..thats the answer i was looking for. I forgot to mention that it was between a turbo and a non turbo s13 (240sx). They guy keeps telling me that the turbo car will be louder b/c it moves more air. I didnt have a valid argument but I felt that the turbo car should be quieter.

Thanks captain america, thats 2 topics that you nailed down an answer for me today!

gawd i love this forum. If it werent for this place, i'd have to work at work!
