Really? One post from some random person on the internet and it's true?
Not actually that random. He's a guy off a local forum, and I don't doubt it's true.

I'm also not trying to say that they're all like this, but you have to admit that this specific case is pretty crazy.

A friend of an internet friend once told me about how many times his S2000 has been in the shop. I guess that proves that Honda reliability sucks, eh?

It's a fairly small sample to draw many conclusions from...

But the difference between an S2000 horror story and this one is that VW is already trying to crawl out of a well deserved reliability/quality hole that it was in quite solidly just a few years ago.

I was just joiking about that to illustrate how silly it is to make judgments based on isolated third party accounts from people you don't even know.

Sorry not to be clear. I knew what you meant. The small sample size I was referring to was the one VW lemon. What I was trying to say was one VW doesn't mean anything, but it might resonate with people because of the reputation.

poor experience with my GFs MK4 jetta also. lots of weird stuff failing on a babied car with low mileage.

when (2009 jetta) VW scores a 5.0 out of 10 for reliability by JD Power, you know that VWs are not reliable. no BS here.

Granted it is an isolated incident, but folks here on these boards have complained about vw issues. It's no secret that they tend to cause the most headaches, so stop trying to be a smart ass about oh it's one isolated incident.
