VW R32!
I'm an avid pre-MK3 VW enthusiast. I can tell you that VW lost its focus with the GTI line. The R32 is nice to have on the streets (talking stock) because of the comforts and sporty feel, but that's the problem from most of the people here. It's a "sporty" car, not a true sports car... IMHO. My view is the purity was ideal in the original MK1 GTI... firmer ride, ultra-close ratio gearing, lightweight on 90hp/100tq. Bolt on goodies can easily bump it up to 140hp no problem.
There's only a few cars (with the exception of exotics) that can match the purity of the S2000... as top gear driver Jeremy put it, "this..., this is the essence of sports car motoring".

my Honda dealer said that 2005 is the last year for the S2000.....and even those are limited editions. Get them while you can.

also, dealers are not part of honda so they know NOTHING. Honda doesn't tell them anything secret because they know that dealers blab.
You guys are so one track minded, maybe people want a nice, fast, comfortable, smart looking car.
Maybe its not the fastest, nothing anyone on this board buys will be.
Maybe its not the lightest, we all can't drive caterhams
Maybe not everyone wants a "boy racer"
Just my opinion

I didn't know it was scheduled for production for only one year. Regarding Mindcore's post, BUT the R32 DOES look like a "boy racer" car.
To touch on the S2000 "dying", I've read in several reputable sources (CAR, EVO, etc.) that the line that S2000s and NSXs are being built it will shut down next year. Honda is tooling up another SUV after cancelling the HSC (future NSX) program. Obviously the SUV makes a lot more money for Honda than the NSX would. F'in SUVs are killing off the good cars.
