If you look at their cars over time you can see how little development money they have. The Lotus Esprit had, what, four designs over thirty years? Good thing they mostly get it right the first time but are you suggesting they use that exact engine?

So you are willing to replace that engine every 500 miles?

Or if you baby it, every 5000 miles?

What's wrong with the 2007 Lotus Exige S SC'd Toyota Motor. I think it's the perfect set up with out ramping up the cost of the car too much.

I would like something with a bit of displacement, little weight and more than 4 pots. I also prefer the feel of normally aspirated engines. I think the SVT Duratec 2.5L V6 would be great. Nice looking motor with a beautiful exhaust note. It

I agree, K series Honda would be ideal.

That or the Evo's turbo.

i think lotus is taking the porsche route....keep on adding a little bit of hp and increasing the price exponentially....

the Exige S is around $65k+ with a couple of options...far cry from the $40k of the Elise from a mere 2 yrs ago...sure its a different body shell, but its only 25 additional hp....

and none of the Exige owners are happy about the Exige S, which came out 6mon after being told the Exige was the only one the US would get....I'm willing to bet the 2008 Exige S will have another 10hp and a 75k price....
