What are you guys more interested in
I'll be looking hard at both of these, the C6 Z06, and the IS500 in about two years. I had my compass pointed directly at the new M3 but I'll evaluate all sporting cars in the same price range. If my wife will get a decent-driving SUV (Jeep Liberty is crap) maybe I can go back to a pure sports car. These'll be at the upper limit of what I could consider (unless I lease) so there is just no consideration for, say, a GT3...
If the new GT-R will be anything as monsterous (when modified) as the GT-34R, then GTR all the way for me. Plus, it's got 4WD (4-wheel-steering too?) and probably will out-perform the M3 in most categories (just a presumption).

I am not interested in either an M3 or a GT-R.

Pulleeeese, i'd put a lot of money that those with 70k to spend on a sports car wont be dropping it on the GT-R. At the end of the day your still stuck with a 70,000 dollar Nissan. (dosent matter how awesome the abilities) I'm sure its going to be an awesome car with respectable perf. numbers but once that novelty wears off, good luck. I mean The corvette has been around for over 40 years and has been kicking ass ever since. just recently they jumped to the "serious cash" game. They've earned it. I'm not so convinced Nissan has. Just my .02

How well does the C6 Z06 respond to mods? I'd expect the GTR to be very open to mod options, perhaps even more so than the Z06(until you go crazy with a TT on the Vette).

With a 600hp Z06 are you looking at a cam that barely idles or is it mainly just bolt on stuff to get that number? Sounds nice if you aren't sacrificing driveability.
