i bought my s2000 because "its so damn SEXY"(fat bastard's voice) . yeah, when i first saw it and knew i can have it, i practically spit in my pants. The other reason i got it was because it was a Honda.

 

Fact: It's faster.
Fact: It's better at the track stock vs stock.
IMO: it looks better
Fact: It's not a miata.
That's it.

 

Enjoyed owning both cars. Miata weighed far less and had a different feel. S2000 had more power and visual appeal. Miata is a roadster for the masses. S2000 is more like a porsche boxster S for people who understand the concept of value vs. ego. Price difference puts these two cars in different financial buyer markets. New miata is much closer to S2000 in dimensions and some mazdaspeed breath could put it in same power range. S2000 is potentially seeing its last production cycle, while Mazda Miata continues for at least another generation. Both are vehicles that will remembered in the future.


Some people just don't "get it" about cars.

 

Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I have dated girls who would meet me out and mistook my car for someone else's miata. I have also been told my car looks like the porsche boxster, so go figure. alot of roadster can be mistaken for another these days. To me the s2k is more edgy and the miata is more curvy, and they are kind of dissimilar in that way.

Everyone has different reasons for buying, owning and driving cars. It sounds like the S2000 was a perfect match for you.

They look very different to me. The Honda is much more substantial looking. The Mazda (imo) is curvier and skinnier and much lighter looking. To each his own. I happen to prefer the Honda's looks.
You unfortunately seem to want them to look the same. I think I know why but....
I believe that to owners of either vehicle, they don't look the same but to people who don't own one or desire one, a cursory glance probably doesn't differentiate the two.
BTW and "for the record". Just because I am e-conversing with you, doesn't mean I still don't think you are a dick head.
