I'd consider it. I owned an FD for over 5 years and for the for the first year or so it was my daily, then for the last 2 years I owned I tracked it at least every other month (even in temps over 105* ambient). I never had one problem with it, but that's because I took my time to research did things right.

For daily driving I think the s2000 is the better car, for weekend fun and track driving the FD just gives you a feeling the s2000 and pretty much any other car can't (I've even owned and track an NSX). Which is why I'm planning on buying another FD.

I love the FDs, and now that zx10 is gone I can say that again.
That said, I wouldn't own one as my sole car, I'd have to have a second car and the patience to give this car with it needs.
And after many spirited discussions with zx10 which lead to some reasearch on my part, pretty much if you live in an area with some kind of emissions testing you're gonna be working hard to keep it running, otherwise it could work out.
The S2000 just offers a less stressful package, granted imho I don't think the s2000 is Honduh reliable as everyone makes them out to be, but it's still alot more reliable vs. an FD.

Now, say your S was worth 20 and the FD 10, should you trade it your S2000 for an FD WITH a nice DD for 10K... that might be something I could support, alot of fun DDs can be had for 10K and you'd have a sexy, somewhat rare beauty to go with it.

The problem with RX-7s is tuners got their hands on them. Same with Supras - tuners ruined the cars more than they improved them.
I'd say this is true for ALL cars. Tuners = morons.

Good point - I've seen some real S2000 train wrecks too.

I know it varies by state, but here in North Carolina if the vehicle was manufactured before 1996 (first year of OBD-II) then there is no emissions testing whatsoever.

So that would be a non-issue for the RX-7, which was last sold in the US in 1995.

You'd be dumb to try to daily drive a Rx7.
I've tried and succeeded in daily driving one since 2006. A turbo one at that. Kthx.
