I predict we're gonna hear a lot of ppl wanting to sell the car b/c it's their first vert and weren't able to live with it as an only car. 2-seats no trunk.

Might be great as a 2nd car but not as great as an only car. And it's price will appeal to people who can more likely only afford one car at a time.

Also the top-up top-down process is more of a pain than most verts.

I don't think the car is stupid. I like the solstice especially for the price. Lets not get into a flame war. I think it's a great effort. But it seems that form won out over function.

If it's a week-end car/toy it doesn't need a trunk or even a top for that matter. Look at the Atom. But if people are going to be driving it 365 days a year they may find it's lack of room a problem.

One time I had to pick up a computer 2 big boxes, I had only my Z3 at the time. The boxes were so big they didn't fit in the trunk. So I had either to make 2 trips or have one box ride on the folded top while I tried to drive so it wouldn't go flying off.

Point I'm trying to make is a lot of people may fall for a roadster and not realize you can't fit a lot of crap in it.

You're right, of course, but even as a weekend toy it ought be be able to hold a weekend's luggage. Even a miata can do that.

This will suffer the same fate as the current MR-s

I think this is going to be a problem for the car's long-term sales. Lack of a trunk might be part of what crushed the MR2 Spyder.

People who buy new bottom-end roadsters usually aren't the people who are buying a weekend toy. Based on my experience at work, 95% of people who insure a Miata or MR2-S are insuring a daily driver. The Miata comes with a trunk that allows grocery shopping or a suitcase... that trunk looks painfully inadequate.

I think it is funny how people who aren't even looking to buy the car are making up all kinds of reasons why it isn't fit to own.
