Default ZR1 at MSRP

I may have a lead on a new ZR1 at MSRP which is around $112k fully loaded +TTL. Should I pick it up and flip it? It's through one of the largest Chevy dealers in the country, so depending on which allocation I get, I think I could flip it for a tidy $20k profit or so if it's within the first couple months of release.

Anyone think this is a good or bad idea?

It's risky. I don't know much about the real market for ZR1s so I don't have much help. I would probably look at it as what if it goes totally wrong and I'm either stuck with the car or have to sell it for 10-15% loss am I OK with that. If so then I would do it, but it now I wouldn't. I wouldn't be worth the risk. Good luck.

it'll be fun driving one for sure.
and if you are 100% sure about the flip profit,
i don't see why not.
$20k sounds a bit too optimistic tho.
personally if i were you, i would consider myself already lucky enough to get one msrp
and just keep it and drive the heck out of it for 4-5 years.

I can't say I'd bet on it. Then again, I don't have $112K to play with (or money to make 60 monthly payments on $112K).

It is a big risk and taxes would be a killer on a car that expensive.

yeah dont forget taxes/registration, though if you do get 20k outta this (too optimistic imo) then it's not that big of a deal i guess

i'd sell your vette and IS and get the zr1 then share the RX with your significant other

20K I think is a bit optimistic, but a nice return if it could be achieved. Too highly speculative, and I've very risk averse.
