Default 2006 Volvo S60 2.5T AWD

So a family member is away until April and has given me the keys to his AWD Volvo when I need it to go through the harsh Montreal winter.

Sadly it's the weakest engine with only 208HP and has an auto-tragic tranny...

I haven't driven the car yet because the battery is dead and it also needs winter tires.

To those that have driven-owned this car, what do you make of it? Is it reliable?

I just sat in the driver seat for a while and was impressed with the comfort; it feels as if I was sitting in a lazy-boy chair. The interior is high quality with good materials used.

I'm just afraid that the driving experience will be quite boring...oh well, I'm only going to drive it when there is a lot of snow or to haul people around.

I was in love with the S60R when they were around.
Never got a chance to drive one though.
I've driven the S40(Focus), and was quite impressed with how it drove.

Let us know your feedback.

Steering feel is actually decent and it has good low end torque.

Not as boring as I thought

Rear wheel bias makes for some fun in the snow.

I hated (words cannot do justice here) our V70 R wagon -- but in the snow it was a total hoot.

Put snow tires on it, and it should be fine. You probably don't want too much power in the winter.

The Haldex system could be really fun in the snow. Not as much as the full time AWD systems out there, but good enough.

What did you hate about the V70R?
I loved the R lineups from Volvo. Was it manual?
