New school or old school?
#21
I recently rebuilt a 93 civic as a nice DD and realized that it was the least technologically advanced car I've ever owned. It doesn't have power steering, ABS, OBD-2 functionality, power locks or windows, and only one airbag. I've gotten used to the lack of amenities, and the bump in MPG (45mpg) from such light weight is refreshing, (2400 lbs) but it can be a little scary to slam on the brakes and lock them up when trying to stop or realizing that crash technology has improved a lot since the car was made.
The point of bringing this up is that driving an older car can be refreshing, but there are a lot of things you lose out from when you choose a car designed and made 20+ years ago! In that vein of thought, I'd get the BRZ because it has an old school feel, while still having all safety features of a car designed this century.
