Here in Alberta, we're getting hit by a new $0.17/gallon tax on January 1....which will be increased again in 2018. In 2019, we'll kick out the current government but probably still keep that tax in place.

Currently paying right around $4/gallon in Alberta (cheapest gas in Canada) and many places are at or approaching $5/gallon. Ugh!

I haven't bought fuel for my daily driver in 2.5 years now. It runs on electricity which I get from the sun. The EV has taught me that I don't need anything else for mundane tasks such as driving to work, the gym, to get groceries, or to go catch a film at the local cineplex. I'm gonna buy a GT350 and add yet another bike to my stable but I think I will have a cheap EV for daily driver use from now on. It's nice daily driving something where I don't get upset with a scratch or a nick, and generally not that concerned. Between the solar panels and the EV, I save myself a few k's per year. I still buy gas for my other vehicles but it's only used for fun, or to mow the lawn. I've cut my use of gas substantially. You are welcome Bill

Bought gas for 2.51 a gallon this weekend. I wouldn't say gas is expensive until it passes 5-6/gallon.

which is about what I paid for it in the recession. Gas is so cheap state side!

I'm in Calgary, just gassed up the Subaru and definitely felt the carbon tax. I just came back from San Diego and Arizona where their gas is so cheap, yet they complain they pay too much. Gas is much cheaper in the US, they should be happy and accept it. I'd gladly trade gas prices with them.

No kidding! My wife is from San Diego and we love vacationing or visiting there. We were in Arizona (Tucson) recently as well. Were you stalking us?

Canada is the land of high taxes. Come live state side, it is better here in every way.
