The PEC LA does not have a track. The 1.3-mile handling course has no run off, and the instructor stresses that it’s a winding road simulation meant to be driven at no more than 75%.

You're right about no runoff. But we were doing a bit more than 75%. Definitely nowhere near a 1-2 day trackday where you're pushing hard and trying extract tenths of a second, but we were going a lot harder than a brisk country road pace. I was definitely not held back from going as fast as I really wanted to go on an unfamiliar track in someone else's unfamiliar $140k car.
