If you can get one cheap a yaris 1.0L 16v.

I had modified yaris t sport before the S and it was great fun, ~130BHP and <950KG's they looked a hell of alot better than the other yaris's.

I rate the Toyota Yaris very highly, I've only ever done routine maintenance on them. I also like the Ford Ka, but as has been pointed out there is a corrosion issue. It does not seem to affect all models though, get one on the ramp and the sills are corroded to nothing and the next one has immaculate sills. There are a few other issues but nothing that is not fixable.
So Ka or Yaris it is then!!!!
