That Fiat group have really got under your skin
So you go find a car to buy and then get a lease company to buy it and lease it to you!
Nice idea!

Well it looks like the Focus is a goner.
Been looking for a replacement and decided to lease it. There are some very good lease deals on unloved cars at the moment. Narrowed it down to a Mazda3 or Punto. Mazda better specc'd with a slightly bigger engine. Punto much better looking, same design company as the Maserati more economical and cheaper to insure.

Been to see both now and got pricing from both dealers. After a challenging start where both dealers were a bit crap they both offered great deals for a cash purchase.

In fact both offered them at cost which was 3k off the price of the Punto
I placed the order with the lease company earlier primarily as all then I have to do is fuel and insure it.

I went with the Punto

Oh and the Focus is being picked up on Thursday
Did you ask to buy it back, or did you not bother?

Well there was exactly no room for haggling in that then. I'm pretty adept at getting a deal but the negotiators they used were tough, so I took the cash. Cheque came within two days. Shame the Punto won't..... I had forgotten what a royal pain in the arse buying a new car can be.

They had no interest in selling the car as it was a cat C and apparently against their policy, mmm...

Oh well all in all not too painful an experience maybe it helps them now being a public sector organisation..

The Grande Punto is a pretty good car.
Mrs G has one.

It's gutless... really gutless...seriously gutless, but it is spacious, well equiped, seems pretty well put together and cheap to buy and run.

And she finds the econodrive software a bit of a laugh.

Edit - And her previous drive ( A Ford Ka ) - in which she had a prang... the 5 * Euro NCAP reassures her.

The crumple zones in the KA are your legs.
