Does he run 205 tyres as some do? Might explain the discrepancy!

That'll be it; they're supposed to run 215/45 17s, like an S2000 front end. Hence a 5-odd% difference.

Like to see a photo nonetheless!

BTW, my Mugen GPs fit the 'Lude perfectly:

By stiffer, i'm talking in terms of chassis rigidity here, not overall setup

My brother had a Type-S Lude and it was a sensational car.

My mate had a Redtop Motegi (they rev out in top at 146 leptons!) that we fitted uprated coilvers too which again transformed the car.

I'm not saying the ATR is bad - far from it.

But when compared with the Prelude, you are paying for the Type-R badge.
Driven many ATRs then Ron?

'Lude is merely an abbreviation, as is 'Teg - Facts here, Mr Gradgrind

The S2000 is the successor to the 'Lude. I hope nobody puts faith in Wiki, and buys an S2000 thinking it's something hard-topped, and four (or is it five?) seated.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the definition of "successor", but I always imagine it as being a replacement for the previous product.

Similar displacement and dimensions, slightly raised price point and it was Honda's excuse for discontinuing the 'Lude. Coupes had virtually died out by then.

So yes, it's true, if you put enough spin on it. Which is quite easy to do with an S2000...

Car companies' press depts. are full of such shit; FIAT always maintaned the 127 replaced the 850 because they were remarkably similar sized & in appearance, when the latter's direct replacement was the 128 range.

Rear seat folds in a 'Lude!

Red top signifies the Higher-output factory-riced H22A7 8 & 9 engines.

212, 197 & 220 hp.

The JDM Accord only had 4WS, IIRC.
Just to confuse things further the UK H22A7 is 212bhp but the JDM H22A7 is 220bhp (in the Accord Euro R). The difference is the ron rating in fuel and the smaller cat.

Autotrader have very recently composed a list of the "Greatest Super Saloons" and the ATR made it in.
