Try some of them in a commercial vehicle; I can really understand why they must sometimes force their way out.

Or a trailer - with the Mondeo it was a struggle, although the LC seems to out-accelerate most of the muppets on the road today even with the trailer

WRT slip lane monkeys, of course I never do anything remotely dangerous and usually allow them to merge - it's just those specific ones (we all know who they are) who seem oblivious to the fact there's a motorway - usually ones who come down the slip road and seem to sit next to the car for a while as if wondering why I'm not piling on the brakes to let them in.....

A bit like the guy on a roundabout a few weeks ago who was never any further level with me than the join from trailer to car, and yet still seemed to think I should brake to let him in.

I can see why the lorries get fed up - at least I can burst a bit of speed if I need to as I'm not limited!

These muppets were a new experience for me, having driven decent cars for the last 10 years or so. IMHO it takes quite a bit of skill to drive decently at slower speeds - more than driving a few mph quicker than everybody else.

I find lorry drivers weird - they're either really helpful like you say - flash you back in after you've overtaken, or complete and utter t*ssers who pull out as you're alongside nearly causing accidents, pull out in front of you and dont' pull in so you're stuck there for mile after mile etc.e tc.

Car drivers tend to be pillocks through lack of awareness and oblivion - lorries seem to do it on purpose.

Although mile after mile of knobends must get tiring.

The M1 is the worst for the lorry idiots. In fact the M1 is the worst for most things! My least favourite motorway (they all have personalities!)

Partly, it's those ridiculous speed limiters that make some wagon drivers complete bell-ends these days.

The safety nazis just don't live in the real world and realise how much frustration they cause.

Part of the driving test ought to be a class3 wagon and a motorbike, before they allow you even a pedestrian's licence.

The secondary roads where you have a car parked on the side and two cars approaching is the scenario that always irritates me.

There seem to be an endless number of drivers who don't seem to know that if the parked car is on their side they have to stop and wait for the unobstructed car to pass.

I have ended up in the crap car, face to face with somebody effing & blinding as he has pulled out in front of me from the obstructed side. I just sat and grinned until he had finished the wordings and waited for him to back up. It seemed that he thought he was right then realised he was wrong by his sheepish look. No apology from him though.

Having driven for the past couple of years in an underpowered diesel land rover at a cruising speed of approx 55mph, I have to say that lorry drivers are usually very courteous, as long as you give them a chance to be. This means having good situational awareness and anticipating when they will need to overtake in order to maintain momentum.

These days, the extra power from the V8 means that I have good acceleration up to 60 and can manage a little over the limit on the flat if required to do so. I am no longer obliged to play the game by the same rules as the lorries, but often find that I revert to a comfortable 55-60 to conserve fuel and am massively more relaxed as a consequence.

Granted, the S2000 is a different beast.

300 Miles this weekend to herefordshire and back was pleasantly without aggressive drivers. In fact, I got so many waves from other landy owners that it put the S2000 owners' club to shame!
