Worth a read, and may be of some help. When I reached a certain ammount of points for speeding, I invested in a Road Angel, I now only use it on roads that I've not driven before.

As far as I can see from a quick browse on their forums they still can't prosecute if you can show you have exercised due diligence attempting to recall who was driving at the time.
