Another caught speeding thread.
I've recently moved in with a friend, hes been caught speeding twice by the same camera.
Reasons being are: 1- The back of the camera is not reflective, its just a pale yellow. So although its a big camera alot of people do miss it because it does not have the reflective back. 2 - There are no speed camera signs on the strech of road he got caught on.
For the above reasons does he have a good enough case to be avoid getting these points, 6 in total?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Chris

Twice by the same camera?
There's two arguments here, one is that how can you get caught by the same camera twice?
I don't know if this is a valid argument, but you could say that cameras are there as a deterrent and should be clear and visible. If he'd noticed the camera goign off the first time, it would have slowed him down, but as he didn't it's ineffectual. But quite fraknly I don't think you'll get anywhere with that.

6 points is really nothing to write home about all it means is your flat mate needs to stop speeding.
If he's been caught clearly by the camera there's nothing you can do, there is no law requiring the camera to be reflective it's just that the money does not go to the local police if it isn't which is why all of them are. The only time he might get a reduction is if he was caught on the same journey but even that's unlikely.

Ah well, it could have been worse - you could have been in the GirlyBevMobile when you were done......

Check the ABD website; the camera/speed limit might be illegal.
Either way, tell him to get protection! We can all have momentary lapses of reason and there's some that have a lot, evidently!

I think the most likely time for me to be caught would be via a lack of concentration around the many cameras near my home
Not yet though
