It's strange how the market's dividing; the brand snobs go for teir 1/2s & the smart money for teir 5s.
The teir 3/4s (that your grandad bought) are left withering. So long Ford, & thanks for all the fish-faced cars like the Escort 4.

I was looking at importing one from Europe. Is it worth it these days? I looked at VAT additions and the cost of the car new in Germany. There looked to be little to gain. Is this the case?

Chap at work has one and it's lovely inside and to drive / be driven in. Still returns 50+mpg in the proces and the level of stock kit is far and away above anything Audi would allow.
You used to be able to get copies of D&G shirts quite cheap too.
Bu the real thing is more appealing to most.

And how many times do you still hear people making excuses for the badge?
My guess is 20+ years for Koreans.

Hmm.. When we looked at a hatch for Dorris i thought that about Skodas and Seats. You get what you pay for from VADGE. The cheaper cars are cheap inside.
We bought a golf in the end, full leather and lots of kit.
