Default ARC Car Wash

I now live on the third floor, with on street parking so it's very difficult to clean the car.

Much as I'd love to take the Alfa to Lee for some full on Extreme Detailing time is against me.

There are a couple of these ARC places within easy distance and they look to be a step up from the usual "Hand Car Wash £5" places.

The car is in good condition, although not concourse, and I'd like to keep it that way.

There's not much info on the website other than a picture here
http://www.imocarwash.com/GB/Postcod...tionFinder.asp

I only thought about them because they look like they've put some effort in - branding, website etc rather than being a supermaket or forecourt

We have one near us that we used to use on my wife's company car.

Gets the car clean, but as you expect with whirling brushes, covers the car in fine scratches.

Fine if its a company car or a beater but not something you'd take a car you care about through.

The local polish hand car wash is much better.

Correct.

With the exception of the S (although I did take it through once), I've always used my local ARC car wash. Took the Merc through the other day (just before it snowed again ... ) and noticed all the brushes had been upgraded.

I normally go for "The Works" at £6 which does a pretty decent job. They apply some wheel cleaner by hand and give it a quick pressure wash before the car goes through.

I'd definitely recommend them. Obviously the likes of Lee will cringe at the thought of swirl mark potential, but if you're not overly precious and just want a clean car, go for it.

yeah we have one of them but a different brand. They put covers over the rear wiper but never take them off at the other end... annoying. Fine for the beater but probably rough on a soft paint car.

Ours also has a jetwash with turntable. I like that, drive on, get out and then spray the car clean as it spins round and round. Much more fun! I used that with the S and it was ace.
