That first photo does it no favour, but the second one looks okay. I don't see what all the fuss is about, it's just an A4 with two doors

I have seen one in the flesh and it does look a lot better. Still not going to buy one though

Me too, the R8 is p8rn and much nicer than a 911.
Saw an R8 a few weeks back, looks very nice, but when it drove off, all I could think of (hear in actual fact) was V8 American Muscle car, thats what it sounds like, and without seeing it but hearing it only, thats what most people would assume, not sure I can reconcile an Audi with classic American Muscle sound

Fith gear tested an R8 vs a 911 Carerra 4S, both 4wd, both about 75K, they were pretty much same fun, performance and handling, their conclusion - buy the 911 now while your name is down on the waiting list for an R8

Bit of a copout on their part I think.

A5 looks good? What are you lot on? Can I try some?

It ought to look good in a mini-Bentley (think if the 5-series based protoype coupe of the nineties) sort of way, but they've totally farqued it up by a wonky lines because the management wanna get off on that BMW thing.

The rear flanks look like it's had an impact, in a way that even a MK1 Tigra doesn't. The Bauhaus purity of the C3 & C4 100s has been thrown away because of metooitis.

I admire the R8 in a modern NSX sort of way. Or I did until I discovered there's a V10 coming out right after you've taken delivery of your V8.

No wonder thaty've got glass doors. Actually, they're so cynical, I bet they let you walk into an Audi showroom, but there are henchmen hiding behind the door who charge you a monkey before they will allow you to leave!

I've seen a couple of these on the road now, and they do look nice.

Naaayyce.

Damned by faint praise!

OK, they look less shit than a DKW Meisterklasse, but a Morris 1000 looked less shit than a DKW Meisterklasse.

Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose.

I think the front headlights look great.

A 3.0 Tdi overtook me this morning and it was shifting. Do they have good performance stats?

Yeah:

Fast-ish.

Torquey.

Handles like a wheel barrow and has zero steering feel.

I presume...

Too heavy yes, but the steering should be hugely improved, since Audi has finally put the engine where it belongs.

I can't be arsed to look and no nothing of the car, but can someone post some crap about this car so we can see who the target market is?

I am struggling to see what that target market would be at the moment but my initial thoughts would be that they are competing against themselves?

Either that or they are going using the Kellogs economic theory?

I am disappointed in this Mark. I once held you in high regard as you are usually very thorough.

Next thing you will be skim reading.

Edit-actually you have caveated your post-true lawyer.
