Reminds me of the blandness of big coupes in general.

I am struggling to see what that target market would be at the moment but my initial thoughts would be that they are competing against themselves?

Either that or they are going using the Kellogs economic theory?
I find myself thinking that about sooo many of these modern niche cars!

Its target is the CLK and the 3er coupe.

The new A4 is the saloon version.

Like I say, its breakthrough (by modest standards) is to position the diff & front axle like the Sierra 4x4 using a clever internal driveshaft within the gearbox.

So, if they fix the awful brake pedal & gearchange, it might be an Audi that's pleasurable to drive.

Well, it's probably regarded as an Audi brand characteristic, so it's probably sacrosanct.

But never say never!

Its good to see that Audi have not just rested on their laurels and milked a design thats been around since 1999. Its also quite good that their range includes a whole host of cars that are aimed at all ages rather than OAPs.
Ill leave that one with you.

That first photo does it no favour, but the second one looks okay. I don't see what all the fuss is about, it's just an A4 with two doors
a4 looks nice and correctly sized

a5 just looks wrong, looks like a merc roof line chopped onto an a4

Too heavy yes, but the steering should be hugely improved, since Audi has finally put the engine where it belongs.
it's mid engined?

The A5 3.0 is tad disappointing compared to 335d.

It's 'only' got 231bhp, which I agree is a lot for a diesel, but BMW have moved the game on.

The new A4 is going to be the dullest car in the Audi line up... believe me, it's terrible.

Looks like a modestly facelifted current A4. There are some photo's out there, but they are so dull it's not worth showing.

I was shocked, really expected the new A4 to be something special.

Audi seem to have gone very conservative with all the current cars looking quite bland.

The exception IMO is the TT, where they were quite conservative, but the orginal design was pretty hard to improve on.

Having said that I think the new TT looks really nice, especially in black sitting on 19" RS4 alloys

The new RS6 packs a mighty 572bhp but also looks really dull.

What is it with the Germans, only MB are making good looking cars and they are AMG - C63 is a beast!

Not an A5 comment, but i have to agree with some of the R8 opinions.Having seen several of them one day while out on a drive up here in jockland i fell in love with them, stunning with fantastic road presence.R8 or DB9 though, thats a TOUGH one......................

What I'd like to know is why the R8/R10 has a petrol engine at all. I mean, they spent all that money on winning Le Mans with the R10 diesel, "proving" how good diesel is, and then put a petrol engine in the spin-off road car.

Most strange, or is it that diesel is, in fact, crap?
