The main reason for using a C4S is they are both 4WD and about the same price.

What magazines need to do is road test a supercharged Cayman S vs an R8, the Cayman would be cheaper even after supercharging to 400+ hp and would be a much better test because of the mid engined configuration, just a shame Porsche don't make this car, RUF do.

I have to say the R8 is a nice looking car, but that is always subjective, I think most Ferraris (modern ones) are kak but that's just me

 

Yep, putting it against a GT3 would be a bit unfair.

But its not being put against anything that vid. For one thing they are just poncing around, and for another they are speaking German so most of don't know what they are saying

 

Someone needs to invent an on-line audio translation programme for Youtube, etc.

Fith Gear did this very test just a couple of weeks ago, well a sort of test series.

Conclusion, both equal in performance, get a C4S now while your on the waiting list for an R8

 

The 5th Gear comparison wasn't QUITE as equal as they might have made out - they didn't really explain that the C4S they tested came with the
