It seems that I share more in common with you guys than just a love of the S2000!

I just can't see it 'thrilling' me in that important boyhood way every time I open the garage, not some italian or even Japanese machinery might.

It's one of the few modern Audis to show any 'spirit' - probably the Lambo genes creeping in!

Nothing against it, per se. I just cannot envisage spending £100K on ONE car. Unless it was something classic/unigue/special/elusivekudos.

I don't think that's necessarily a "too damn' poor" thing; more that I personally prefer slightly crap cars...lots of 'em.

Has anyone driven one?

You might decide you woud pay the money afterwards.

It's like the Evora. Price tag puts you off, but to me it's driving nirvana in terms of modern stuff.

Books / covers and all that...

Oh, I don't know about that. I can get a lot of Asda in the Ferrari.

Oddly, I prefer the 86 to the Evora - engine's got more character & the steering's less heavy in oversteer and the boot works. AND you could have two...

Don't get me wrong; I still like the Evora a lot indeed, but maybe it's crossing that 'useability' line and that's it. It's like an 'Emperorsnewclothesometer" in that one can usually get much of the same stuff in a lesser machine these days - and a better-sized package to boot! That certainly didn't used to be the case. Although I was one of those odd souls who thought the 840Ci was infinitely better than the 850 - maybe the V8 R8 (R2D2?) is the Nirvana that I've been missing since Kurt went.

PS: I cannot help noticing you also bought a mass-produced tin-box instead of the Evora!

I really like it. We should celebrate that the manufacturer of our future taxi cab fleet takes a year off and puts a v10 in a tt

But... I wouldnt spunk £100k on one. I'd quite like an AC Cobra

Falls into the something classic/unigue/special/elusivekudos category.
