Brough Superior
Hi,
I mentioned in a thread about heaters in S2000's that I had a Brough Superior car. Someone kindly asked if I would post pictures here, so I have attached some of my 1935 Brough Superior 8 cylinder Drophead Coupe.
I have also added some of the launch of the New Brough Superior SS100 Bike on 5/12/2013 which I was invited to, and one of the Michelin Garage I came across on the way.

It is believed they made around 25 8's of which around 14 survived maybe 9 or 10 on the road at the moment, then around 50 six's 4 saloons and 1 V12 so around 80 cars in total it is believed, all the records were lost in the war.
When asked how many cars he built George Brough used to claim 1000, that's George for you

Hi Ray,
Our son got married back in March and both families and friends hired a house near the wedding venue up near Buxton as a base for a couple of nights, managed to get a picture of the engine on the morning of the wedding.

The house we were staying in

engine in warmer times

Engine is a side valve, splash lubrication very simple straight eight just over 4 litres with incredible torque. three speed reverse gate box in top you can trickle along at 10mph and it will pull all the way up to 90 if you are brave with no problems.
It is recorded in the Rolls Royce archives that they got hold of an engine and took it apart as they could not believe how smooth it was. Having driven quite a few miles in a 1932 20/25 Rolls I understand why they did it. The engineering on the Rolls engine is far superior to the Hudson's, but in my opinion the Hudson engine is smoother.
