Default Average speed record for the Manx TT circuit

Is it still 102mph by Tony Pond? I just found the DIVX which my mate ripped from VHS years ago. It's a cracking vid, and I just sat for 30 mins watching it. What's the best way to share it with people cos the driving and his commentary are brilliant.

Car or bike? I'm sure the bikes hit higher than that

Think the bikes are at least 120's if not 130's now

I've got a old VHS somewhere with "on bike" footage of Steve Hislop's (then) record breaking lap of just over 18 mins. Some of the shots as he goes through the villages are just mindbending ...

Last year I think it was 126mph, this year the gov are going all out for the 100th anniversery, so they've re-tarmaced some of course and straightened out some of the corners on the mountain section in a bid to get over 130mph. They're also getting The Who (or the remaining two members) to come over and play.

Sadly there are rumours that this years TT will be the last as in this crazy world of health and safety the TT is a bit of a dinosaur. Each year there are many deaths, mostly due to visitors treating the island like a race course but also cause the roads just can't handle the amount of extra traffic.

I don't know tbh, but it may stand as proof that fastest is not necessarily most exciting

On the road or on the track

Well it's been a long time since a car went round the circuit under road closed conditions so it probably does still stand.
