You can't really call that cushioned parcel shelf thing "backseats". Certainly not in this context anyway - as you say, too small.

Funny; I saw a Gayman today with the cliche yellow Fred Perry-wearing neanderthal-browed sulker driving it. He was using the rear-view to preen himself in the traffic.
