Great to see it all coming together for you both. Proper grassroots racing.

Well we've certainly come a long way.
The car is driving brilliantly and the handling is much improved. Lightening it and having the cage in has worked and made a big difference.

The first few laps at Oulton were actually quite scary wasn't pushing too hard as the pads were new but you could just tell that entry speeds in to bends had improved and increased levels of grip around the bend leading to a quicker exit. Especially Island bend which can pretty much be done flat out in fourth whereas before it was lift off slightly in 3rd. Adjusting the suspension throughout the day led to improved handling. Just trial and error trying to get it correct.

Once the pads had bedded in it was obvious they were mile better than anything we had used in the past. Bit of luck as they cost much more.

We still have a few bits to do and complete but we are nearly there

Roll on Elvington on Saturday.

Starting to look like a proper racer now

I know it's a very different application but my pagids seem to have been worth the extra cost. I have it on good authority that they'll be cheaper in the long run.

And don't show me pictures of M5s towing, bad things could happen

Oh yes a good point. We have the fastest and coolest tow car in the paddock.

Thanks for the positive comments.

Although they were double the cost of our previous set of pads we are led to believe many of the cars that run in the Production BMW championship (e30 318's or 320's) will get thrugh an entire season on the RS29's.

We were at Elvington yesterday. It was OK although it completely wrecked the NSF tyre - therefore a bit of a false economy doing such a day. We won't be hurrying back.

We seemed to have 70% of the lines worked out in the first hour, including taking the sweeping r-hander before the straight as wide as poss therefore keeping the power down all the way through and entering the straight as fast as poss. No one we saw seemed to have worked this out, apart from one other I saw ((who was clearly the quickest car on the day)
