Well I passed my ARDS today. Completed at Anglesey which I thoroughly recommend. There was a bad incident there on Friday too, ended up with some guy being cut out of his Locost sounded nasty hope he is ok.

Instructor also mentioned Rockingham is slippy in the wet, something to do with the imported surface by all accounts.

Another step closer......
I can vouch for Rockingham being a slippery son of a bit** if the surface is anything like it was when we tested for the Uniroyal Challenge a good few years ago; My god it was like a bloody ice rink.

Mid engined spaceframed lightweight with Uniroyal all weather tyres and a Plastic Beetle body thrown over it; The thing just wanted to turn around at every opportunity; Quite Jolly once you got your head around it but we were told at the time that the surface was oozing and they'd had no end of issues with it.

The Uniroyal cup cars look great and offer competitive well priced racing by the sounds of things. Plus don't they sort everything if you enter with one of the teams. There is one run out of Broken Cross in Macclesfield IIRC.

Well Cadwell booked and entry paperwork received. Need to sort a transponder from TSL.....

Also need to get in touch with BARC to arrange entry for the next race in the NWSSC

Yep; That's basically why we were looking at the Uniroyal Challenge; now called the Fun Cup.

http://www.funcup.co.uk/funcup01.asp

All you needed was the enthusiasm and the cash; they held a day where you went and basically did your ARDS and got your NatB.

We tested the cars at Rockingham, this was many moons ago when they were trying to establish the idea; 130bhp Audi mid-engined spaceframed cars; Very jolly to drive albiet wanting to turn around all the time; especially at Rockingham where we tested and the surface had been causing big issues with oozing and was subsequently ripped up.

Sounds like they still have issues at Rockinghamn then?

Might have to nip over to Cadders and watch your inaugural race chaps.

Excellent!

Enjoy the nerves when you're lining up for the first qualifying session

I would've travelled up to see this but I'm crewing for my brother's rally that weekend.

Can someone report on the Magnificent 7s race for me? I'll be getting my entry in for the Snetterton round soon.

How many racers have we got on here now?

1. I'll try to if I'm in the right frame of mind.

2. Steady on-lets get the first race over and done with.

I was talking to the guy working in the Post Office this morning. He commented on my nice car. Turns out he tracks an e30 as well and the garage he uses (almost next door) races in the PBMW champ, TTRS champ as he owns an E30, e36 M3 and has just bought a BMW 2002 (I think the same one who was out at Oulton once wuth us?). Cooincidence or what!

Very handy to know of another competitor & mechanic.

And he has the e36 for sale for
