Gulp well it looks like we are going racing. Anyone ever done Cadwell Park, we haven't and it looks well a little daunting.

Went to watch the TTRS and PBMW at Oulton this weekend and I think we both wished we were out. Pretty close racing especially the PBMW which we won't be racing in (318 and 320 only) but the TTRS class scheme means there is always something to race against. A fair few accidents though but they were accidents not deliberate bumping.

Cadwell for the first race

It's a great circuit but a scary circuit and I've actually bottled out of racing there this year until I can get some more track time there but that's just me.

I think the PBMW series looks fantastic and I did some looking into renting a car for a race to see what it's like. So many options at the moment

I don't think I want to race at Cadwell with no prior track time. At the very very least I will want do do a recce of the circuit (walking or cycling).

PBMW is fantastic racing - in some ways I wish we would have got a 318, 320 however every single car looked a bit worse for wear and ours is in better nick than all.

Despite what the organisers say it's popularity is potentially its biggest pitfall in terms of accidents and getting a race entry. The PBMW races we witnessed had a far higher incident rates than the others.

Most of the races are down south.

So, overall I'm glad we didn't.

It was hillarious seeing some of the repairs.

We wondered what had happened to one guy who had crashed first corner and which they actually stopped race 2 early for (with ambulances on the scene).

We found him 10 minutes later in a garage wedged in the boot of his car kicking the dent out of his rear quarter.

Another had put his car into the wall on the same corner. The damaged looked like a write off. God knows what he did but he was back racing in race 2

I commented to Lee we need to take a lump hammer with us when racing.

JFDI.

I did, and I'm still alive to tell the tale.

Watch out for the pit straight in heavy rain, the car moves a couple of feet to the left in all the water running across the track.

But apart from this it's fine.

A bit narrow.

But fine.

And a bit twisty, with lots of unsighted corners.

But you'll be OK.

You have a rollcage don't you?

Second. First was Donington.

Tell me when you're racing and I'll come down to Cadwell if you want. Bit of moral support often helps and it's not too far from me now.
