Woohoo turns out the 924 behind us at Cadwell had video. I can't watch it all as I'm on the train and reception is tosh.

Now that circuit looks like a handful!
How much cement dust!

LOL at comment; 'Passed BMW and made it stick' Wasn't your car very ill at this point and you then retired

He's carefully missed out laps 2 & 3.
Car died on the left hander past the pit straight, hence why I was going so slow.

It was one of your lot that made the bloody great oil slick down the Revett straight yesterday

So how did we get on.....
Well Snetterton is a bloody long way away from Cheshire that's for sure.
We arrived quite late on Saturday. I'd bought a petrol powered lantern during the day on sale from Blacks, I mean a lantern that runs on petrol!!! How could I resist. So needless to say the first thing we did was get that working
Then we got the tent up and went for some food. Eating at race circuits is a bad plan the food was shockingly poor
few beers than back to our home. Much better equipped this time and stayed warm all night. Camping is not my thing but its getting more bearable.Next morning we went and signed on and sailed through scrutineering.
Everything was all quite early in the morning so it was a bit rushed, sign on, new drivers briefing, obtain transponder, scrutineering etc etc bit of luck there is two of us.
Qualifying was for 30 minutes and the Future Classics had been mixed with the second lot of the Jaguars. So we had our pre-93 cars mixed up with 6.0l V12 XJS and XJ6 coupes. Nice difference in speed. We also had about 6 911 and 911 SC's including 1 turbo enter so there was a vast chasm in performance difference. This time in our class we had the usual quantity of 944's (most of the class) a 911, TR7 and Ferrari 308. Let's just say we are not going to be competitive in our class.
We actually qualified 30th out of a grid of 39 entrants of whom 36 qualified. Qualifying was much more aggressive than at cadwell, primarily I suspect as both Moggy and I felt much more comfortable with the circuit. What a cracking track Snetterton actually is. Well worth the trip out there. Our time was 1:30:739 not bad we thought.
I think it's fair to say we both struggled with Sears corner and indeed the Esses. Especially as time lost at Sears means you get out dragged on the straight. The bombhole is a great corner as is Coram.
After qualifying Moggy mentioned the pads might be a little worn, well it's fair to say they were.
During the race I had a good challenge from an MR2 and 924 both of whom gave a good fight. One I was losing I have to admit. We had a great driver change and took both in the pits. Moggy had a good drive too and nursed the car home with the pads shot. YES we finished !!!!
Hurrah and we had a great day.
Oh and we have no idea where we finished, the results have been published apart from ours

Hopefully not dead last but our goal was to finish and we did. So that's one signature down.
Oh and racing is more addictive than crack.
Next plan: Upgrade the drivers, oh and grow a bigger pair of balls, I am going to need them.

was it you who put all that oil down
