Default Blackvue DR400G-HD

Just wondered if anyone had one of these installed in their car? Do they go anywhere to reducing your insurance premium or are they likely to have the opposite affect as they may be considered a modification?

If anyone had one in their S I'd be interested to see how neat the install can be.

The Blackvue has the benefit of a parking mode which triggers when anything enters the area the cameras field of view... and it's only £145 !

I recall having this conversation previously on here and there was an S2K'er that had a similar camera fitted and someone reversed into their car whilst parked up at a supermarket. Needless to say they drove off and left no note. This person contacted his insurers, the TP denied it, so he sent them the camera footage showing them reversing into his vehicle. They paid up.

Neaput had one of these or similar in his Holden when it was bring ragged by a dealer monkey. One very red faced dealer principal and an unhappy manufacturer later and he got a decent settlement

Would a nice tidy installation be possible in an S? Not sure what space there is behind the trim around the screen.

It'd be better off flushed into the upper glovebox lid - anywhere else and they'd break into the car to steal the camera, not so much use having pictures of thieves if they have the car, the camera AND the images

They're not that noticeable when located directly behind the rear view mirror.

They've dropped price to £134 now so I need to decide whether it's worth it.
